WO2 SHORTLISTED FOR RISING STARS AWARD

Warrant Officer Class 2, Susan Keir of 13 Air Assault Support Regiment, has been shortlisted for a Rising Stars 2020 Award.

WO2 Keir, who was nominated by her Officer Commanding Major William Cook, has reached the final ten for the Logistics and Transport category.

“It would be fantastic if we could get WO2 Keir an award, I think she thoroughly deserves it,” said Maj Cook.

Selected from an original list of over 1000 nominees, WO2 Keir was been nominated for her outstanding contributions to the British Army. Throughout her eighteen-year career, she has developed skills in both her vocational field, including gaining a broad knowledge of the Defence Logistics Spectrum, as well as contributing to the wider aspects of her military role, namely representing the Royal Logistic Corps on the Netball and Recruiting teams.

“Very much in line with my professional development, my sporting development has witnessed me go from team member to team organiser and mentor,” explains WO2 Keir.

WO2 Keir’s varied and challenging career has seen her entrusted to carry out tasks of the rank above her current level, further allowing her to develop strong management and leadership skills.

The WeAreTheCity award, now in its sixth year, aims to showcase remarkable women within the UK representing varying industries and professions. Focusing on the achievements of these women intends to highlight the incredible female talent that exists across the country, alongside encouraging business leaders and organisations to recognise individual talent and the potential leaders of tomorrow.
