A member of The RLC Rowing Club, represented his native country of Zimbabwe at the World Rowing Championships in Austria at the end of Aug.
LCpl Stephen Cox (3 Regt RLC) raced in the Zimbabwean double, with his team mate knocking eight seconds off their PB and narrowly missing out on Olympic qualification.
LCpl Cox is still favourite to represent Zimbabwe in the single scull at the Tokyo Olympics, which is now where his efforts are being focused. He is hoping to be accepted onto the Talented Athlete Scheme, which will help him greatly in his Olympic quest.
An RLC Learn to Row course has been held at Abingdon, with the aim of introducing more soldiers into the sport.
