Results from the Rugby Final

The Final of the Briggs Equipment UK Shield, the RLC UK inter-unit knockout competition for those units not in the ARU Premiership was held in Abingdon on Wednesday 15 April 2015. This annual 15-a-side tournament for men, open to all Regular and Reserve RLC units saw 9 Regt Face off against 3 Regt in the final.

Despite the sweltering 25 degree heat on the day both team fought like lions and the standard of Rugby was fantastic. The game saw many outstanding tries and the lead swapped frequently until the last 10 minutes when 3 Regt managed to establish and develop a firm lead. A brilliant match won by 3 Regt but great rugby, fitness and spirit from both teams. Despite some outstanding individual performances, the deserving man of the match was Sergeant Ratu Ligairi of 3 Reg.
