Vehicle challenge sets new world record

3 Regiment has set a monumental new Guinness World Record – a new distance record for pulling a vehicle non-stop for 12 hours.

On 5 Mar, twelve men, made up of 3 Regt RLC and a member of DHL Supply Chain, pulled a VW Transporter van through the night in Abingdon, to smash the current GWR of 8km achieving a new distance record of over 76km!

“What a truly inspirational group of officers and soldiers. This is the very reason that I love what I do and why I love our Corps, the Army and the officers and soldier within it,” said WO1 PS Broom, Corps SM RLC.

“Well done 3 Regt RLC, you absolutely nailed it and you are the very definition of what the #ArmyConfidence campaign is trying to encapsulate. Congratulations!”

ABF The Soldiers Charity and Mind, which have both supported the Regt’s soldiers over the last year, will both benefit from the challenge which aims to raise £10,000 in donations.

There is still time to help the team smash their target by donating on the Pulling Together 2020 fundraising page.
