Military Skills Results

Saturday 1 October 2016 saw the 23rd annual RLC Military Skills Competition hosted by 25 Training Regiment at Princess Royal Barracks, Deepcut.

This year 65 teams of 6 took part in the event (45 Regular unit teams and 20 Reserve unit teams).

This year’s competition overhauled the traditional event, with the competition starting with a navigational exercise, with teams only receiving their next grid reference when arriving at the given grid reference. Teams then undertook a falling plate shoot, with 90 seconds allocated to advance 100 meters, take up a firing position and attempt to knock down as many targets as possible.

Once teams had shot, they had a timed transitional march from the ranges up to the NATO obstacle course, where they dropped their kit and equipment and took on the challenging obstacle course in the fastest time possible. The competition then ended with test of a military knowledge.

Congratulations to all the teams who took part and the regiments who supported the event.
