Logistic Support Squadron assumes command of the Logistic Task Group

After successfully completing Exercise GREEN DRAGON, Logistic Support Squadron assumes the lead for the Logistic Task Group of 3 Commando Brigade.

Held relentlessly at R2 readiness, Exercise GREEN DRAGON was a perfect opportunity for the troops and command team of the LTG to dust off the cobwebs and hone their skills, verifying the LTG is fully prepared for contingency operations.

Collaborating with RFA Largs Bay and 17 Port & Maritime Regiment RLC, the Logistic Task Group started the exercise by amphibious landing on Browndown Beach. Side by side, Royal Marine and Army ranks swiftly set up the beach head before preparing to move in convoy to Copehill Down.

Once in location, the Logistic Task Group was tested in all facets including Combat Service Support in an urban environment creating a live Field Storage Area and airlifting fuel to Viking Squadron via Air Portable Fuel Container systems. The exercise culminated in two long range Combat Logistic Patrols to Caerwent and Hullavington before redeploying back to RMB Chivenor.
