A SSgt from 4 Regiment RLC has won a gold medal in the Men’s 400 metre race at the World Masters Games in Turin.
SSgt Musa Audu, who is stationed with 33 General Support Sqn, also picked up a silver medal in the 200m Men’s Race.
Because of his successful background in top level athletics (including being part of the bronze winning Nigerian 4x400m relay team at the 2004 Olympics), he was chosen to speak on behalf of the athletes by Reading the Oath at the Games’ opening ceremony.
“I would like to thank God Almighty for a great success and it’s such a great honour and privilege to be made the face of the game by choosing me to take part in Reading the Oath.”
“I feel great winning the Men’s 400m and its such a great felling to see that all hard work I have put in during training has paid off. I’m looking forward to the next World Masters Games in Japan in 2021.”
SSgt Musa Audu would like to thank the CO of 4 Regiment RLC, Lt Col Yates and Maj J Lowe OC 33 Sqn for allowing him the time to train and bring success to the Corp and Army in general.
