Conductors’ Parchment Ceremony 2019

The RLC’s 2019 Conductors’ Parchment Ceremony held at The RLC Officers Mess in Deepcut saw five senior soldiers promoted to the prestigious role of Conductor in their respective trades.

WO1 Neil Scott has been promoted to Head of the Driver Trade, WO1 Karl Arnott, HoT Marine Engineer, WO1 Kevin Bennett to HoT Systems Analyst, Jethro Davies HoT VSS and Simon Griffiths, HoT Chef trades.

His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester, accompanied by Lieutenant General M W Poffley OBE, presented parchments to five newly selected Conductors.

WO1 Senior Conductor Rob Ladell, said: “To be head of trade you are already the technical expert with the various specialisations.”

“The conductor is the person that then is pulled from within those ranks by the corps headquarters, as someone who does further and wider engagement from a capability training and personnel point of view.”

In addition to the new appointments, Conductors’ Coins were presented to the most deserving soldiers below the rank of WO1 for going above and beyond the call of duty.
