The RLC has received individual Commander Joint Forces Commendations in recognition of its excellence in logistic operations over the last year.
Lt Col CM Morton
Lt Col CM Morton of SO1 J3 Ops UK & ROW, Defence Supply Chain Operations and Movements (DSCOM), has been awarded a Commander Joint Forces Command Commendation for her role as Chief of Logistic Operations in HQ British Forces Cyprus from Oct 13 and Sept 16.
That period was dominated by her support to Op SHADER ran from Cyprus where she concurrently reformed delivery of logistic support on island.
Her formidable leadership, dynamic approach and operational experience have transformed the delivery of logistic and equipment support for the regional air bridge and two infantry battalions.
Additionally, her acute eye for regulatory compliance and business efficiency has generated impressive financial savings. The pinnacle of her efforts, however, has been her unstinting work in delivering and assuring a significant element of British Forces Cyprus’ continuous logistic support to Op SHADER and across the Middle-East.
With her unwavering determination and infectious enthusiasm, Lt Col CM Morton is a most talented and dedicated officer who has delivered far beyond the expectations of her post. With an output that is quite staggering, she is hugely inspirational and continually puts her service before her family. For her outstanding contribution to logistics in support of British Forces Cyprus’ provision to Op SHADER, she is most deserving of recognition.
Maj RJ Swan
Maj RJ Swan from 32 Squadron, 3 Logistic Support Regiment, was awarded a Commander Joint Forces Command Commendation for his role as an Ammunition Technical Officer and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer within the Ministry of Defence.
Maj Swan has worked in his current role at the MoD since August 14. In this bespoke position, he has led a multi-disciplined team which has been required to move worldwide with very little notice.
Throughout his tour of duty his performance has been outstanding, far beyond what could have been expected for his rank and experience, and showing exceptional ability in rigorous circumstances. He has thrived on pressure, helping to identify opportunities for the United Kingdom and the return in terms of savings and capital assets has been astonishing.
None of this could have been achieved within resources and success has been entirely due to his commitment, dedication and exceptional work ethic. He has advanced swiftly to the position of a valued subject matter expert and is held in the highest regard across Government Departments and with our international partners. His actions and efforts are thoroughly deserving of recognition.
