151 Regt tests out its trade skills

151 Regiment RLC deployed on Exercise TRIDENT TRADE III between 18 and 19 Jan 2020 in order to test its trade skills.

The Ex, which took place at the STANTA Training Area Thetford, Norfolk, tested troops the Driver trade, Chef trade, Adjutant Generals Corps (SPS) Military Clerks personnel and Army Medical Services Combat Medical Technicians.

RLC Drivers were tested on mounted navigation, driving, loading and offloading skills and actions on enemy contact including suicide bomber and IED threat.

Chefs were tested on catering in the field. This included setting up and running a field kitchen over the 48 hour period and providing six hot meals for 80 Troops at Location Oakwood Forward Operations Base Thetford.

Military Clerks attached to 151 Regt were tested on administration skills on the Ex, which included working within the Operations Cell tracking all movement of personnel and vehicles from Oakwood Forward Operations Base.

Combat Medical Technicians attached to the Regt were busy within the task troops getting hands on dealing with casualties in scenarios. This took place across various locations within the training area.

151 Regt is a Transport Regiment forms part of 101 Logistic Brigade and is one of only a few Reserve units to be part of the Army’s reaction force.
